Today, Mayor Patrick Brown issued the following statement regarding a workplace health policy for the Conservative Party of Canada:
“Every person deserves a workplace free of harassment. This principle should extend to those working with and for the Conservative Party of Canada.
“If elected leader, I will engage a third party human resources consulting firm to both write and operate a bolstered workplace harassment policy which all Conservative Party of Canada Members of Parliament, candidates, staff, and the leader will be subject to.
“With this, the Conservative Party of Canada will augment the existing House of Commons policies on harassment with an additional, stronger code of conduct which will be administered by a third party human resources firm in a strictly arms length manner. Our party will promote a culture of workplace respect.
“This is long overdue and I am committed to implementing it.”
