Today, Mayor Patrick Brown issued the following statement announcing the Hon. Michelle Rempel Garner, Member of Parliament for Calgary Nose Hill, as the National Campaign Co-Chair for his leadership campaign and released his platform for Western Canada:
“Across Canada, Conservatives are tired of losing federal elections to Justin Trudeau. For Western Canadians, the stakes have been high – three election losses to the Liberals have meant massive job losses, unaffordable living and inequity.
“Today I released a strong platform to give Western Canadians hope. You can read it here. I am also excited to announce Western Canada’s strongest champion, Michelle Rempel Garner as my national campaign Co-Chair. We are building a strong, hopeful and passionate team that will grow the Conservative Party to an election victory.
Following her appointment as National Campaign Co-Chair, Michelle Rempel Garner said the following:
“Conservatives need a leader that can build the broad multicultural, multifaith, values-driven coalition necessary to win in the areas where we keep losing – without compromising on what it means to be a Conservative or letting down those who have been party members for years. Patrick Brown has done this in the GTA, as a Conservative. And today, he’s released a strong platform for Western Canadians.”
“I know that the team Patrick is building will grow the Conservative party to a victory in the next federal election. Nothing unites Conservatives like winning a federal election. I’m proud to be part of this movement and I’m in it to win it.”
